• Legal authority & policy requirements

• Proper handcuff placement, tension & checking

• Standing, kneeling & prone handcuffing techniques

• High-risk vs low-risk subjects

• Team-based handcuffing for security details

• Subject control, escort techniques, and officer safety

• Avoiding positional asphyxia

Performance Requirements:

Students must safely handcuff a compliant and resistant subject using approved methods.

🔴 3. OC (Pepper Spray) Certification

• OC spray types, concentrations & deployment patterns

• Legal restrictions & liability prevention

• Safe distances, aiming, and target zones

• De-escalation before and after OC deployment

• Post-exposure care, decontamination & reporting

• Scenario drills: real-world decision-making under stress

Performance Requirements:

Students must demonstrate accurate deployment technique, verbal commands, and proper post-exposure protocol.
